It’s the weekend!!!! And we all know what that means…. Everyone is trying to figure out what to do  – for FREE! I love when my weekend can be packed full of free stuff to do with my kids, by myself or with my spouse.

 

FRIDAY:

 

THE WAYGAMING SPORTS TOURNAMENT – Sherwood Park Alliance Church 7pm – 11:59pm

“TheWayGaming is proud to present its first ever Sports gaming tournament! Come out and play some of the best sports games out there in a tournament format including, NHL, NBA 2K, FIFA, MADDEN, and hopefully more! We will have AWESOME PRIZES, FREE FOOD, and a super fun atmosphere. If you are going to come to the event, please register yourself by clicking on the “GOING” button on this Facebook event page. INVITE YOUR FRIENDS TOO. ANYBODY CAN COME OF ANY SKILL LEVEL.

GEAR AND EQUIPMENT:
-TV’s and PS4’s will be provided. There will be controllers provided as well but you may bring your own if you would like.

GREEN CHRISTMAS – Martin Deerline 9am – 3:30pm

“Join Martin Deerline for a FREE family event full of Christmas fun! Come out to Green Christmas to have your picture taken with Santa on a John Deere tractor, build Christmas crafts, enjoy Christmas treats and save some money on John Deere gifts! Pictures with Santa by donation to either Santa’s Anonymous or the local Food Bank.”

 

HANGIN’ WITH DAD – Mill Woods Senior Activity Centre 9:30am – 1:30pm

“A FREE half-day of fun and creativity for kids (age 3 to 8) and their dads, granddads, or other significant male role models.

This event coincides with the Nation Child Day weekend (nationalchildday.ca) and will indeed also celebrate chrildren’s right to belong. We encourage all men that play significant roles in the lives of children to bring the little ones they love out for some active play and quality fun time.

Hang with super heroes from C3: Caring Character Cosplay (www.facebook.com/c3caringcharactercosplay), build a box fort or a tower out of straws, make a book with the wonderful people from the Centre for Family Literacy (www.facebook.com/CentreforFamilyLiteracy) or just make a mess! Share pizza, pretzels and a brew (rootbeer of course!) with your special guy!

CELEBRATION OF LIGHTS – 401 Festival Lane 3pm – 5pm

ALL IS BRIGHT WINTER FESTIVAL – 124 Street Edmonton 4pm – 9pm

“On Saturday, November 19th from 4PM to 9PM the businesses of 124 Street Area are inviting you to celebrate the coming of the winter season at the annual ‘All is Bright’ winter festival. The main festival site is located on 124 Street between 102 Ave and Jasper Ave, with some activation and entertainment extending north on 124 Street to 108 Ave. The official ‘Light Up Ceremony’ will take place on main stage at 6PM.

Lose yourself in the sizzle of fire and light dancers, bask in the warmth of the Beverage Gardens, brighten your night with the EDAC Digital Alchemy Alley, warm up your vocals with some caroling, try your hand at axe throwing or fat tire bikes, get swept away with segway and rickshaw rides, catch a puppet show, find yourself chillin’ with the ice sculptures, or get cozy making s’mores around the fire. FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT – Jamie Plaza YMCA 6pm – 9pm

“Join us for this FREE Family Event!

Come out and watch FINDING DORY with us in the Jamie Platz Family YMCA gym!

Arrive by 6:30pm for free popcorn (while supplies last) and to set up your space.

Movie begins 7pm.

– Bring your sleeping bags and stretch out on the gym floor.
– Chairs will be set out along the back wall for those needing seats
– This is a family event, and parent supervision is required.
– This event is open to the whole community, not only YMCA members, and everything provided is 100% free.”

I HEART YEG WINTER – Alfred H Savage Centre 1pm – 4pm

“Celebrate winter with River Valley Programs!

On November 20th, from 1 – 4 pm, come down to Whitemud Park and explore winter in Edmonton’s River Valley. Try out free winter activities such as; bannock making, snowshoeing and kicksledding (weather permitting). If there is no snow, partake some great activities such as; geocaching, fire-building, nature walks and much, much more! Enjoy some tasty snacks and warm drinks while exploring the River Valley partner booths.

This is a family-friendly that is free to attend!
