I love that every week I get the opportunity to take my girls out for free kids events with Box Social. February 18 was KidsPlay at the Sherwood Park Mall. Sherwood Park is not that far from Edmonton and its such a lovely hamlet! I love driving to Sherwood Park although I suppose the construction could put a damper on things… Hey, but if you are up at 6:30 a.m., every morning like myself, then going out for 9:00 a.m. is practically like a third through your day already!
KidsPlay lasted from 9:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. and Active Kids Academy was playing games with the kids (ages 0-6). They were making hero crafts which existed of decorating a paper plate and making super hero action figures which were also pretty cool, reading stories or made up stories ( I couldn’t let if it was improv or memorization), and blowing bubbles (Gymboree Bubbles??? They seem to never pop and slowly float through the air for minutes). A very enjoyable time! Sherwood Park Mall KidsPlay also provides a snack and drink along with cozy chairs for the adults so it makes me quite comfortable! This time they had three different kinds of juice boxes and nutrigrain bars to munch on.
I find the Sherwood Park Mall KidsPlay to be very enjoyable and relaxing. Not a “crazy kids 100% hands on focussed event” but a time to meet other parents and enjoy watching your children grow and have fun. I encourage you, specially if you already live in Sherwood Park, to make time for this FREE monthly kids event!
