Rodeo #KidsKorral in #yeg

One of my favourite times all year is November because today is the start of Rodeo week in Edmonton. The Canadian Finals Rodeo is starting next week so today was a perfect day for the start of rodeo freebies!

The Rodeo Kids Korral was just across from the Old Strathcona Farmers Market. Amazing kids activities and freebies at the Rodeo Kids Korral. There was a petting zoo with many different farm animals (a rooster got out and everyone was chasing it to get it back – hilarious – check it out here), try your best at calf roping, take a seat on a real bull riding saddle for a photo op, kids play zone which had about 6 large games for kids to pay with (plinko, catapult, large stacking buckets ect.), s’mores roasting – we were provided with a s’mores package box so all the fixings were included, live country music which I enjoy and so did Global TV, hulahooping (what does hulahooping have anything to do with country and western I have no idea but it was enjoyable non-the-less), horse drawn wagon rides and barrel racing with stuffed barrel racing horses.

Barrel racing was being directed and cheered on by Miss Rodeo Canada herself, what a lovely treat (and surprise)! See her directing my little barrel racer in the video below.

A very enjoyable morning and especially with the beautiful weather I am so glad we got out today to see what Rodeo Kids Korral was all about, Rodeo week is looking just fine – giddy up!

Make sure you check out my events calendar here for all the free events during rodeo week.

We then ventured on, because it was just in the building beside, to the Old Strathcona’s Farmers Market. It was full of people coming and going! The Farmers Market is indoor and runs every Saturday year round – yes this is in my free events calendar. There is tons to look at and enjoy – we sure did.

So many samples of food you could eat your free lunch there from all the free samples.

Today was customer appreciation day so there was some freebies up for grabs. Yours truly won a $25 gift certificate to undercoverwork .

I love her booth! So many cute baby items and perfectly made! I got my little girl 2 bandanna bibs and I love them. I definitely recommend checking the Old Strathcona Farmers Market out even as a date with a friend or loved one. It is busy and beautiful to see – what talented and passionate people we have living in our city.

Then, just when we thought it was time to go Miss Rodeo Canada and a Rodeo Queen were doing free pictures and prints with the public. I love free rodeo pictures!!
