This week was like the BIG BOMB of FREE events being released. Remembrance Day ended and many were inching for Monday morning to share Holiday news and events! Below are 7 FREE events coming up this week:

Santa’s Arrival – West Edmonton Mall

“Join us for a fun filled day as we welcome Santa Claus to West Edmonton Mall’s North Pole Place, his home away from home during the holiday season!

Enjoy a day of exciting holiday activities like cookie decorating, petting zoo, hot chocolate stand, letters to Santa, colouring station and much more!

Make sure you’re at the Mayfield Toyota Ice Palace at 10 a.m. to join Santa and his elves in the parade, as they make their way to North Pole Place”

 

Santa’s Arrival with Guests! – Bonnie Doon Shopping Centre

“Santa arrives at 11am Nov 17th! Starting at 1030am there will be Christmas Music Piano & Caroling entertainment, stilt walker, and of course Cinderella, Beauty Princess and Snow Queen there as well where the kids can take photos together with the special guests and Santa! Oh and don’t forget there will also be cookie decorating on arrival date! There will also be a small gift for all the little ones who come to visit Santa along with craft stations daily! Mrs. Claus will be there every weekday for photos or to craft with the little ones! This year we are excited to announce that there will be weekly princesses and various character appearances for photos with Santa so be sure to stay posted on our FB page for updates on the weekly appearances! Pet photo day is also one day only on Nov 24th! Hope to see you there!”



2018 SCARS Christmas Craft Fair – Second Chance Animal Rescue Society

“Join us on Sunday, November 18, 2018, from 11 am to 4 pm for a Christmas Craft Fair in the gymnasium of Westmount Junior High School at 11124 – 130 Street in Edmonton.

This is a chance to shop for a variety of hand-made crafts! The event will also feature Pet Photos with Santa, prize raffles, a meet & greet with SCARS’ pets, and more!

Attendee Information:

– There is free parking in the community
– Admission is free
– There will be an ATM on site
– Some vendors are cash only
– Coat check, prize raffle tickets and Santa pictures will be cash only
– Ensure your pet relieves themselves before entering the school
– Unruly pets will be asked to take a time out”

Mental Health First Aid Course – Mental Rescue Society

“The Mental Health Strategy for Canada encourages all employers to create and maintain mentally healthy workplaces. The Mental Rescue Society along with the MHCC is committed to helping them do that, by providing the tools, information, and support needed to ensure every Canadian can go to work knowing their organization recognizes the importance of psychological health and safety in the workplace.

However, there are other locations that need this attention to mental health; The Home. This is where you come in. The Mental Rescue Society is pleased to offer the family members of First Responders the training opprotunity that each and everyone of them is currently receiving. This is a 2 day course which will be provided at no cost to the participant.

This course was made available by the contributions from the Fire Deptartment Recruit Class 148. Through their efforts during training they fundraised to make a difference in the Mental Health awareness. With their generous donation the Mental Rescue Society is now able to offer this course at NO COST to the participant. Thank you Class 148 and keep up the good work and we hope your career is as kind to you as you were to us.”
